Picture Day Questions

Answers

Q: What is Color Background?
A: You have the opportunity to personalize your portrait by choosing from one of four fun background colors.

Q: What about blemishes?
A: Temporary blemishes need not be an embarrassment on finished portraits. Students don’t want a temporary blemish permanently displayed on their portrait. This service will soften harsh blemishes before printing. The result is a portrait far superior and much more satisfying to students and parents.

Q: What is a pre-pay program?
A: You are able to make your selections on the flyer envelope provided and bring your package choices and payment to the photographer on picture day. All students are photographed for school records, but only those that pay will receive a picture package.

Q: When is picture day?
A: A notice is sent home with each student prior to picture day indicating the day of photography. If you lose your picture day flyer, a replacement can be picked up in the school office. You may also check the Picture Day Center to see if your school's picture day information is available.

Q: When is retake day?
A: Students will be notified of the retake day at school. You may also check the Picture Day Center to see if your school's retake day information is available.

Q: What if I don't like my pictures?
A: With Herff Jones your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are not pleased with your finished pictures you may return them for a full refund of your money. You can contact SWI Photographers with any questions you have regarding a refund or retake.

Q: What is Copyright Release? Can I copy my pictures?
A: SWI Photographers owns the copyright to that image. This is the policy mandated by the federal copyright laws. The copyright to an image can be transferred only through written permission. An understanding between the school photographer, the school and publishers of yearbooks and other school related uses allow such reproductions.

  • If you do not want your child's portrait reproduced in any school publications please contact your school administration.

  • If you wish to reproduce your/your child's portrait on a medium or product not offered in the reorders section of this site, please contact SWI Photographers.  In some cases SWI will grant permission for limited reproduction of the copyrighted image.

Q: What if my package is incorrect?
A: Contact SWI Photographers and inform a representative.  They will be happy to correct that for you.

Q: How can I order more pictures?
A: Email g.orders@swiphoto.com and click on "Reorders" to order more portraits. Your package information sheet is required. Reorders are accepted for up to three months.

Q: I forgot to send money on picture day. Can I still order?
A: You'll need to contact SWI Photographers immediately.  If it is still possible to add an order, a representative will be able to take your order information along with a Visa or MasterCard number and you'll receive your order with the rest of the school's orders.  If the "Order Prints" button shows up with your school's information under "Picture Day" info, you may be able to place an order online.  If it is too late to add an order, you can send in your order on retake day and have your child's portrait retaken.  If Retake Day has already come and gone, a representative at SWI will be able to look up information for you to order online at www.swiphoto.com. Please keep in mind that the prepay packages are a special price; the same packages will not be available online.

Q: I am not happy with the package combinations offered. What are my options?
A: The package combinations are agreed upon by a representative of the school and our sales representative. If a small package is offered that would meet part of your needs, remaining items may be obtained through the reorder option after the initial purchase. Reorders prices may vary from original offerings.

Q: I received my picture package, but my class/group picture was missing.
A: Often group pictures and individual pictures are printed and shipped separately.  If other students in the class have received both and you have not, please contact SWI Photographers and let them know.  A representative will be happy to correct that for you.

Q: We ordered multiple packages - can they be delivered separately?
A: We understand that some families would like to order multiple packages for parents and relatives. If it is necessary that separate orders be packaged separately, you will need to turn in a separate order form for each order.  If multiple packages are selected on the same order form, all packages will be delivered together in the same envelope.
